How I Went from Rs. 5,72,971 Credit Card Debt to Running A 7-Figure Coaching & Consulting Business

Years ago, I wanted to start my own business. I knew I wasn’t made for a job.

I always dreamt of having my own company. Little did I know that it is not as easy as Instagram reels make it sound.

There’s a lot of blood, sweat and tears you have to put into building a massive business.

After graduating as an IT Engineer, I started working in an MNC for a mere salary of Rs. 15,492/Month

This lesser salary made me think of different ways to make money and that is how my journey started to become one of the most sought-after internet marketers.

I already had an interest in online marketing. So even before I joined that MNC, I had started blogging.

The idea of blogging came from Pat Flynn. He used to post his Monthly Income Report on his website.

I always gasped by looking at these numbers – Imagining my life what if I hit this level of income!

I started writing about digital marketing, SEO, affiliate marketing, and many other things on my blog…

Of course, I learned from other blogs and posted on mine. I didn’t have any idea what I was doing at that time.

I was doing good at blogging so I left my job in less than 6 months.

Everything was going well generating 5-6 figures a month and I made the biggest mistake – I started working on other ways to make more money.

I decided to build my own software company – A SaaS (Software As A Service) business. I worked on that project straight for 2 years.

After working my ass off for 24 months, I had to shut it down losing Rs. 15 lacs that I earned from blogging and affiliate marketing. I couldn’t get that software off the ground.

My blog also went down making less money and I started surviving on a credit card.

Later, I began working on different projects – Dropshipping, Freelancing, Mobile Game Apps Development, Marketing Tools Directory, Marketing Agency, etc

I failed at all of those things.

During this time the best thing I did was I always invested in my learning – buying books and courses. I’ve became a learning machine!

I learned a lot about copywriting, direct response marketing, content marketing, high-ticket sales, webinar sales, business strategies, mindset, influence, human psychology, etc.

To date, a day never passes in my life without learning something new and that attitude has helped me to get to the level I am today.

After all, there’s a saying, “Your future is determined by the people you hang out with and the books you read today”!

Anyways back to the story…

The reasons I failed in those businesses are:

  • No Consistency – I never did one business consistently for a longer period of time. Every six months I was changing my business.
  • Inability to Get Sales – I never knew a solid system to get sales for any of these businesses. Everything was guesswork with no strategy.
  • No Clarity – I did not have any clarity or path to achieve my business goals. I was shooting arrows in the dark. There was nobody to guide me.

But by the time I understood my mistakes, it was too late.

I was drowning in Rs. 5,72,971 credit card debt.

The payment date was immediate. Creditors were calling me and I had no idea what to do.

Being the eldest son in the family, my mother being heart patient, and having no support from my father, it had become even more difficult to survive.

At that time, I stumbled across this book: The Consultant Next Door By Taylor & Chris

I read this entire book in just one sitting and decided to become a consultant.

I learned many things during my blogging & affiliate marketing business success. I even learned more through my failures. I have vast knowledge of marketing, sales, and business growth strategies.

And I know this knowledge will definitely help other businesses who are already doing good but struggling to go to the next level.

I used to sit the whole day with my laptop and learn from various sources such as blogs, YouTube, Facebook groups, etc.

One day my mother said one thing and it completely changed my life.

She said, “You won’t make any money sitting all day here. You have to go outside. You have to meet with real people.”

This was the turning point of my life.

I understood my mistake. I was gaining the knowledge but not applying it to any businesses. So I decided to approach businesses to provide my help.

And I knew that I could not help somebody who was starting from scratch. It is too difficult. I understood that I could help someone to scale a business that is already doing good.

So I began approaching people over Instagram DM asking people for a physical meet.

Some people rejected straight out of the gate. Some people said Yes but didn’t follow through. After sending many DMs, a person agreed to meet.

I met that person. I impressed them with my presentation. I closed my first client on a monthly recurring basis.

I helped this business grow to multi-crores and I became confident in helping people to scale their business.

After several weeks, I met another person. I impressed them with my presentation. I closed another client for a fixed fee.

Then I met another person. I impressed them with my presentation. I closed another client for a yearly fee.

And on and on and on…!

I cleared my credit card debt and became debt-free. I felt so peaceful when I became debt-free.

Now, I’m running a 7-figure coaching and consulting business that helps businesses scale.

I also got an award for scaling a company to achieve a 10 Crore Mark.

So far, My clients have crossed 23 Crore in Sales in their business and I’m striving to take this number to 100 Crore By 2026.

I also spoke on stages related to various topics such as marketing, sales & business growth.
